Drums in the Deep,
is a short, action top-down game, featuring gloomy environments and echoing gunshots with an emphasis on being shrouded from sight. 

There's even an Android Apk for on the go playing!

Obtain Cash by bringing people to the exit!

Obtain Blud by Hurting the Hunters at anypoint!

"Clear Save" in Options in order to get starting cash and blud!

Controls :

WASD - movement

Mouse - Aim

Q - to call to others

E  - cycle weapons

When Selected:

Hands - Flashlight on/off 

Hands (when near enemy) - End enemy

1 - Handgun: Left-click - Shoot

2 - Shotgun: Left-click - Shoot

3 - SMG: Left-click - Shoot ("silenced" in tunnels)

Shift - Sprint (emits noise!)

- Be mindful of your stamina 




  • Hero - You against three indomitable hunters. Find the weakness or the exit, with or without people.  Find the lore within Hero and defeat the Hunter ("He's bulletproof until he's not..."). OR escape to unlock Hero+.

  • Hero+ - You return back to the labyrinth, but with the exit right behind you. This time, the Hunters are out in full force with numerous victims made to meander. The Hunters aren't bullet proof this time around....


  • Dread - You against an undetermined amount of hunters, with no exit. It truly is just a messy experience of shooting and running, hoping they get disinterested with you when they take your entourage. At least they die now...



  • Tunnels - (WIP) You go in. Get the snow. Get out. Turn off your light and use "Interact/Flashing" when behind to "sneak attack". They can definitely hear your gunshots and you running. Only thing going for you is your silenced pistol.

PLANNED FEATURES:

- Finish Ai for tunnels and dread

- Add team mates and simple stay and come commands

- Obviously change the music

- Rework the tilemap (map textures and stuff)

- move the weapon selection to the number key row

- Overhaul the voice lmao and some sfx

- Make it viable for mobile platforms (controls aren't butt, runs smoothy, and doesn't eat battery (idek how to fix that))

- Lastly, put tunnels behind a paywall. (after it's fixed) (Release update: Probably will make another game based around sneaking, so paywall is no longer on the table)

Drums in the Deep,

is a short, action top-down game, featuring gloomy environments and echoing gunshots with an emphasis on being shrouded from sight.

Featuring: "3" game modes!

There's 2.5 game modes with another 'unwinnable' game mode, so it almost makes three modes. Only in the v.83, as for this an "special limited release" due to bgm concerns (see below in 'Tunnels' for more information).

  • Hero - You against one an indomitable hunter. Find the weakness or the exit, with or without people. ("He's bullet proof until he's not..."). Escaping unlocks Hero+, along with a new starting blicky (I have to tell peeps, otherwise, they won't know it exists)
  • Dread - You against an undetermined amount of hunters, with no exit. It truly is just a messy experience of shooting and running, hoping they get disinterested with you when they take your entourage. At least they die now.
  • Tunnels - (WIP) You go in. Get the snow. Get out. (Still being heavily worked on but this started out as "I want them to wander and react to a gunshot" and now it's a full blown wandering ai. I added very copyrighted music which is why this version (v.84) doesn't have an actual finished state, but I wanted to see what kind of theme the music adds and it's so appropriate. it won't be in the final product as the files themselves will be overwritten with songs that offer the same energy. tl;dr: this is a broken WIP game mode with certain content which is why this game is free, but I really wanted to share)

Above that, it's my first game, with first time coding, with very little understanding of coding overall; when I started. There's some house content, but as I was learning how to code, I tried to be versatile with code and their functions. Notably, this is what happened for the background music for the newest game mode, Tunnels.

Inspired by The Terminator (1984)


This is more of a pre-alpha to a demo, but it is my first game to try these mechanics :)  

Wanted features:

- Guns, just to deter, not destroy

- Variable lights

- One sided ai gunfights

- Raycasting to add proper sight

-Leading ai to the "exit"

- Bullet penetration, impacts, 

- Overall, hopefully, just better 

- Sprinting, stamina and ai running away

- Place-able blockades

- Player Weapon choice

- Death screen,  a real one

- Mobile Crap

- A lot more to come
